Akon Charged In Fan-Tossing Incident

R&B singer Akon is set to be charged in connecton to the much-publicized fan-tossing incident back in June. Check out the report via PEOPLE magazine:
The YouTube clip of Akon tossing a 15-year-old fan into the crowd of a concert has come back to haunt him: Police are slapping the hip-hop star with criminal charges after a fan said she suffered a concussion in the incident.

Akon is due in a Fishkill, N.Y., courtroom Monday to be arraigned on misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment, the Associated Press reports.

During the June concert, Akon threw the audience member from the stage into the crowd. According to AP, the boy landed on another fan, Abby Rosa, who told the Poughkeepsie Journal that she suffered a concussion.

There was no immediate comment from Akon's camp.
I'm glad. It's about time some of these artists started taking responsibility for their actions and, by that, I don't mean making wack 'Sorry' songs.
Any thoughts?

Hes a good hip hop artist who is original and he didnt mean to hurt that fan. So you ass pirates can go get a life and stop trying to degrade others who are way more famous and have way more money than you just because you have nothing better to do.

I love Akon's music. I hope they dont send him back to jail. He just got a little hot tempered and didnt mean to do it. Those first two people who sent comments are d-bags.

Akon is an amazing artist. Yes, we all do things that we aren't proud of. At least he has the guts to apologize to the people he's hurt, even if it's in a song. Most of us can't even do that. I'm not saying that he was right to throw that fan off the stage but still, have some sympathy. The kid went along with it, so shouldn't the kid be charged as well if Akon's getting charged? All Akon did was toss him...if anybody's going to be charged, they both should be. There shouldn't even be charges, that's a freakin stupid thing to press charges for. they could have gotten out of the way. But Akon is amazing, and i respect him and admire him greatly for his courage to admit his wrongdoings and apologize for them. I bet you that hardly ANY of us could do that, so that shows us what kind of character Akon has...
