Mariah Carey - 'Touch My Body' Video

The much anticipated video for Mariah Carey's new single 'Touch My Body' premiered just a few hours ago on the Island Def Jam website:

Directed by Brett Ratner - who was also at the directorial helm of Mariah's 'Heartbreaker' and 'We Belong Together' clips - the vid neither fell below or above my expectations. The simple, light-hearted concept was befitting to the song. Saying that, for Mariah's sake, I hope the rest of her forthcoming 'E=MC²' album and the future videos are of a higher caliber than this, because I still feel kinda short-changed with all of this after the near-perfection that was 'The Emancipation of Mimi' record. Random tidbit: did anyone else spot the return of the 'Mariah Whine' for a brief moment when she was in the red dress? LMAO!!!

Hmmm i guess the second half wasnt too bad but i still dont like the song. Nothing about this is making me wana get the album. Hopefully she steps it up with the 2nd single.

wow that was real mature to call her the b.... word I will agree it was not the best video, but it also wasn't the worst, the song has grown on me i am feeling it, she is a vet in this business, and she can be playful if she wants, and if she got the body why hide it, do judge the women in the rap videos

I guess haters will always hate. Whatever the case, the video was fun. Best video ever made? Not by a long shot. Enjoyable? Certainly. MC did something lighthearted with the first single. People should try judging an album when they hear the album, not a 3 minute and 30 second single.

Touch My Body (the video): 8 out of 10

Mariah has done it yet again. I'm not a super Mariah fan, but I'm crazy over her. She's a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. This video was wonderfully directed, produced and filmed. It's captivating and entertaining in its entirety. Mariah didn't dissapoint me with the last album and I don't think she'll dissapoint me with this upcoming one.
