The verdict in rapper Remy Ma's trial was handed down today; Ma, real name Remy Smith, was found guilty on four major charges - two counts of first-degree assault, attempted coercion and criminal possession of a weapon. The charges stem from a 2007 incident that saw Remy almost-fatally shoot a former friend during an argument over $3000.During the course of the trial, Remy's defence team contended that the shooting was an 'accident' - obviously not convincing the jury in the process.
Remy was not found guilty of the remaining charges, which included gang assault and witness tampering. Word has it the victim's family and friends taunted Remy when the verdicts were read - causing chaos in the courtroom.
The former Terror Squad star could face anywhere between 5 to 25 years in jail. {Source}
