Fergie Preps 'Dutchess' Re-ReleaseAccording to MTV, Fergie is set to re-release her multi-Platinum smash 'The Dutchess'. Boasting several new tracks including her collaboration with Nelly, 'Party People', as well as 'Labels & Love' - the theme of the much-anticipated 'Sex In The City' movie, the revamped LP will hit stores on May 27th.

In response to the question of why she decided to re-issue the record, the Black Eyed Peas front-woman was surprisingly candid with her explanation:
That's what everyone's doing nowadays, I hear," she laughed. "The label came to me and said this would be a good idea, and I thought, 'Well, OK, if this is another way for me to put out these songs that I've been wanting people to hear, then great.' The music business is changing, and this repackage thing is a new way for people to put out songs that they want people to hear, so I'm cool with it."

Well, at least she was honest. It still baffles me as to why the label would re-issue an almost 2 year old album. Surely everyone who wanted it the first time has it already?

Your thoughts?

I hate when they re-release a cd. The hardcore fan base will be the cd when its first released. After it is re-released should we go back out and buy the cd again if we already own it, just for 2-3 songs? I guess i shouldnt buy anymore cd's the first week.

I love fergie though :)

DUMB, DUMB, DUMB. I hate the whole concept re-releases, but this especially stupid since her album is so old.

Is she dumb? she already had 3 #1s that album is ancient now, release a new album its about time. re-releasing it now will only lose them money, she ain't worthy of a re-release. i didn't cop it the 1st time what makes them think a weak ass nelly collabo is gonna get me to run to the music store. she whack and tries too hard, she needs to step down and out, take a long ass vacation hoe. I don't wanna see her meth'd up face on the tv or hear her cracked up pipes on the radio no more, bitch is overhyped and overplayed.

yeah, I'm not feeling these rereleases either. I usually buy cds the first week of their release and I refuse to buy it again for 3 songs I can simply download for free. Do it right the 1st time! They are starting to piss me off and maybe I'll just quit buying cds like everyone else!

Fergie, Gurl, I love your music, I do, but you sound hella dumb. If you want people to hear you new material, release a new LP.

But aside from that, the Re-release thing didn't bother me as much until it became the "thing" the music industry is trying to do. Get more money off the same old crap... Thriller 25th anaversary, JT's Future/Sex... There have been some good re-releases, Mariah's Emancipation, and Usher's Confessions album, but please don't do into the album already plotting to re-release it.
