this could be good and bad. bad because she may be looked at as irrelevant by that time because so many of the divas will have returned. good because thus far there is no competiton in 2009.

Its because there to much hype surounding brandy and she does not want to go up against her.2009 she will have a fresh start.

I'm positive it had nothing to do w/ Brandy. As fans of both i'm not going to even get into Brandy & Monica ish...too childish.

Her TV show has been picked up by a major channel that will be broadcast & she still hasn't recorded w/ Missy. It's all about timing...if she is not done recording- it makes no sense to release a cd. If her promo singles is any indication by the way she is sanging...i'm sure she will be worth the wait!

What the hell does BRANDY have to do with anything? That comment was just stupid. If she is still in the studio, she is still in the studio. Obviously she is going to make sure her album is to her liking, and if she got NEYO, Missy, and those other producers on it, i'm thinking its gonna be a great album. Monica is in her own lane... I'll wait for it!

Well...she's working with the right people and still has strong vocals, so it will be worth the wait, I'm sure! You can't go wrong with Ne-Yo and Babyface on your album! Can't wait!

i think this was a great business descision and shows her maturity. in the industry there is competition. so yes Brandy has alot to do with it. Monica showed her generosity and is letting brandy shince.brandy already has a single on the radio and a video. Both singers are great all i can say is we need to get ready. they bringing it back 90's style. first brandy and monica, now whitney and did u all hear lauryn hill new song with marsha from floetry. OMG

The way Monica releases CDs I wouldn't be surprised if she releases it in 2010. Because she's notorious for the 3 year gaps between albums. Even though she said this album would not follow that gap, STILL wouldn't surprise me.

Leave Brandy out of this. J. Hudson and Beyonce are about to release albums in 2008 and they are more competition for her than Brandy. Face it, Monica is slow releasing CDs so when I first heard she was releasing a CD in 2008 I knew it could not be true because her last CD came out in 2006 which was only 2 years ago.

Some people are just stupid as hell. Like Monica sat in her room and said, "BRANDY is coming out with a CD...so, let me wait!" Monica's single is just a buzz single, and her album wasn't even finished, where as Brandy's was, so how does Brandy even fit into the equation? She doesn't! People have nothing else better to do than to try to keep comparing the two. GET off it!

lol look at brandy dum fans thinking monica is scared to release cause of brandy...i laughed at that one so hard my stomach hurts....monica has a tv show,a clothing line, and 2 appearances in movies coming up and a new endorsement....monica has alot of business to tend to so she waiting to the top of the year to release...did someone say pushback...hardly not being as she never had a release date to begin with.....

I'm glad she pushed it back if she had to. I have to say I loved "The Makings Of Me" that was a good album "Why Her?" SHOULD have been a single but its done now. Im still looking forward to Monica's new material.

Mo is gonna set it @ the top of the year n I'm sure like me she has no worries. Still Standing is a Buzz single with no label support n its on the charts so what does that tell u? That there can only be even greater things 2 come. Mo has never disapointed fans with an album. The Makings of Me was my favorite thus far. We got 2 c the real monica all grown up. N Personally I can say that I've been through everying that she spoke of on that recording. N with Still Standing she's right on time. All I gotta do is change one line n the song is my life. Mines would be "some niggas took my lovers soul in front of me" instead of "I had a lover take his soul in front of me". Yeah I had a boyfriend who was killed in front of me. I don't know about ya'll but Mo always speaks 2 my real life experiences as well as entertaining me. I can't say the same 4 most of the arists in R&B 2day. Ur supposed 2 feel n relate 2 R&B music. Cuz it's something u seen or been through. Not jus 4 ass shakin n all that. Is the album gonna be woth the wait? Most Def. N I can hardly wait.........

Her album is worth the wait i heard a song from it called "once in a lifetime" and damn that bby is fire seriously
