I thought Kanye was mediocre during his good days so his wackness of today is no surprise to me.
I also have no real love for Beyonce either. I don't even think she is great compared to her peers let alone to legends.

I agree with almost everybody's comments on this thread. Beyonce will be a legend when everybody wants to copy her style of music. In addition, she will become a legend when she creates a song that withstands time. She needs to create songs that have meaning and everybody can relate too. Kayne will not be Kayne without putting his foot in his mouth. I get tired of hearing Kayne and Beyonce talking about becoming legends like Celine Dion and The Beatles. I just want them to continue making good music. Legends do not talk about being legends. Legends make good music, and the people who enjoy listening to their music call them legends. I think Beyonce is on her way to becoming a legend.

Beyonce is a good performer and artist. You will not know if someone is a legend until the next generation. IMO We have to see how her music influences other artists, and if she creates songs people want to listen to decades after the hits are made. Kanye is entitled to make his opinion about him and beyonce being a legend. He can shout it to the rooftop if he wants to, but it will not change my opinion. I think he is telling everybody he and Beyonce are legend, so everybody will start calling him and beyonce living legends. Just because I do not agree with Kanye and Beyonce does not make me a hater. Sometimes when people use the "hating" words it makes me think they cannot handle opposing viewpoints.

As usual Kanye has been talking out of his ass lately. This is his 3rd comment about Beyonce when he should be talking more about his music. He's the one that has an album to promote. I think he's really saying this because of his recent statements about Rihanna making Beyonce have to step her game up had some people in an uproar.
@5:08 Child please you are really reaching naming some of those songs as influences on that list. Especially saying Ring the Alarm is reminiscent of Janet. I don't think so. It's actually a rip off of Kelis' song Caught Out There with the agressive lyrics and screaming on the hook. And with your bogus list you are proving the point that Beyonce is not a legend. Yes legends have influences, any singer can tell you where they get their inspiration from but they also don't mimic those styles excessively where it becomes a rip off. Michael Jackson was influencd by Fred estaire and James Brown but he doesn't dance or sing exactly like them. There is a difference. I could use another example with Keyshia Cole, she mimics Mary's style rather than using Mary's artistry as a muse to branch out and have her own style. Beyonce is doing the same thing and her style is all over the place because she's mimicking a lot of people. Legends have ultimately have a unique style that they stick with.
Also Beyonce has really only had 1 great album. 3 solo albums doesn't qualitfy a legend and I don't even think she has enough solo material for a greatest hits CD. Before some of y'all go there when Diana and R. kelly left their groups they were able to have a Greatest hits albums with their own solo material. Legends also have consistently good material that stretches for decades to the point where it becomes timeless. Just because someone has been in the game for a while doesn't make them a legend. You could say they are a veteran in music, but not a legend. Marques Houston has been in the game since '93 and he hasn't made anything that made a great impact and influenced others. Beyonce is in the same boat. A lot of Beyonce's music is like fast food it's good for a while, but it fades away fast and is forgettable.

First, legend means something coming down from the past. Beyonce is hot now, which is the present. Nobody knows the future except God, so we do not know how Beyonce's story will end. Legends do not exalt themselves has legends, but the title is given to them. I am a fan of Beyonce's music, and I hope she becomes a legend. We have different opinions on what makes a legend. We just do not agree. We cannot think our opinion is the one that matters. I think it is egotistic to think like that. You think Beyonce is a living legend and that is your purgative.
