Bow Wow To Retire? In a recent interview with MTV, Bow Wow spoke about possibility retiring from the rap game in the near-future:

"I wanna be the next Will Smith," the 21-year-old recently said, restating his growing passion for acting while sitting poolside at L.A.'s Le Montrose Suite Hotel. "After the eighth album, I'm done. I already feel it. I love acting. I love my music like I said, but I feel it. After this one, probably one more in me and that's eight. Like, I'm one [album] behind Nas, and that's crazy."

LP number seven comes out later this year. It's called The Pedigree.

Reading this, you'd think he'd sold albums by the truckload or was held in any kind of critical regard. Unfortunately for Shad, none of these apply lol. I'm guessing it's more the fact that next to no one is checking for him on the music tip anymore, so acting is his new 'passion'. That said, I can't down him on this one; get in where you fit in, I say.

Any thoughts?

With Bow Wow set to release his seventh studio album 'Pedigree' in the coming months, the video for the LP's first single 'Marco Polo' made its debut today. Featuring Soulja Boy, both the song and video get the 'blah' treatment from me; Bow's gonna have to up his game if he's looking for any notable kind of success with this record. Yawn...

Re-affirming the fact that he's he a complete a**, Bow Wow called out former collaborator Omarion on a remix of Hot Stylez 'Looka Boy'. Dissing Omarion for, among other things, his 'tight jeans', it's hard to believe it was just a few months ago that he was touting him as the Prince of R&B. Bow also takes a dig at the Raz-B/Chris Stokes situation. Check it out:

A mess. I'm assuming the terrible performance of their joint LP 'Face Off' may have been the cause for this break-up rift.

On a recent Youtube webisode, rapper Bow Wow takes aim at what he calls 'The Hater': Check out the vid below:

As I'm sure many of our regular visitors know, That Grape Juice expresses opinions rather than 'hates' - there's a marked difference. Yes, 'hating' is a disease that needs to be stopped, however...

To answer Bow Wow's question, perhaps if he stopped being so cocky - considering his music more often than not is wack IMO - then maybe the 'hating' would subside. Just a thought...

Bow Wow To Focus On Acting According to Billboard, Bow Wow is turning his focus away from music to acting, and has a string of acting gigs in the pipeline. Check out the report:

Actor-rapper Shad Moss, aka Bow Wow, is focusing on acting full time. Moss has joined the upcoming fifth season of HBO's "Entourage" in a recurring role, playing Charlie, a new stand-up comic client of E (Kevin Connolly).

Additionally, he has landed a role opposite Forest Whitaker, rapper Lil Wayne and Isaiah Washington in the Weinstein Co.'s sports drama "Patriots," about a high school basketball team in post-Katrina Louisiana.

"After 16 years in the music industry and six successful albums, I've decided to shift my energy to something else I'm passionate about, acting," Moss said. "I'm going to try to be the next Will Smith."

Like Moss, Smith started off as a rapper before segueing into acting.

I'm pretty sure the news will be greeted with joy by many. For someone who's music and sales leave a lot to be desired, he really does come across overly cocky.

The quote did make for an interesting read, though. Six successful albums, huh? I would beg to differ. After serving up one of the biggest flops of last year with his joint 'Face Off' Lp with Omarion, he may just be 'shifting his energies' elsewhere before inevitably ending up like his (collabo) partner O - dropped from his label.

After a disappointing debut on the charts last week (#11 with 107,146 copies sold), 'Face Off' - the collaborative album by Bow Wow and Omarion - doesn't look to be doing all that great. Still, a second single in the form of 'Hey Baby (Jump Off) has been released - the video for which premiered today. Put simply, neither the song or the video are anything other than 'ok'. If anything, this is a step-back from their decent-yet-forgettable 'Girlfriend' release IMO.

Bow Wow and Omarion were guests on a 'Sexual Health' episode of the Tyra Banks show, alongside rapper Eve and Dita Von Teese. I am still in hysterics about what went down when Tyra asked "Stand up if you've ever faked 'it'..." Check it out:

LMAO at Bow Wow! Omarion's face was priceless. I'm guessing the jokes kinda write themselves with that one...

Rapper Bow Wow was rushed to hospital immediately following his co-headling 'Up Close and Personal' tour stop with Chris Brown in Cincinnati yesterday (December 6th).

The 20 year old star is said to be in 'good spirits and awaiting doctors diognosis'; though his condition is thought to have brought on by 'stress and exhaustion.'

Unfortunately for fans hoping to see Bow Wow on the tour's stop in Chicago tonight, he will be sitting it out. However, he assures his Chicago-area fans that “he loves them and will be sure to come back to Chicago soon!”

I know some of you may jump on my back, but I can't help but question the timing of this. I mean, the release of his joint album with Omarion 'Face Off' is drawing ever-nearer (December 11th) - amid little hype. If I'm wrong, here's hoping he makes a speedy recovery...

The video for the first single from Bow Wow and Omarion's joint album 'Face Off' premiered yesterday. Considering I had my preconceptions about the album, I must say that I am liking this song and video; nothing great, but still pretty good. 'Face off' hits stores December 4th.

It was announced a couple of months back that rapper Bow Wow and R&B singer Omarion are set to release a collaboration album titled 'Face Off' on December 4th. The cover art for the CD has just surfaced and I must say that I'm liking it - the split face effect is kinda cool. There is potentially a feature with the guys on the site soon, so watch this space.

Rumors have been swirling that Bow Wow and longtime collaborator Jermaine Dupri are beefing and for that reason JD won't be producing on the rapper's joint project with Omarion - 'Face Off'. SOHH.com sat down with both Bow Wow and JD to find out whether there is any truth to the specualtion. Click here to check out the video.

I feel what Bow Wow is saying about wanting to grow, but I think his judgement is wrong. There's 'growth' and there's knowing what works for you; name any Bow Wow hit and you'll find it's JD that produced it. This isn't the first time Bow Wow's tried to go it alone, most seem to forget that he dropped an album in his mid-teens called 'Unleashed' (which they should..it was garbage). Without JD's presence, the album lacked any hits and ultimately flopped. Time will tell if 'Face Off'' suffers the same fate.

With their collabo album 'Face Off' due for a December 4th release, this new track from Bow Wow and Omarion is set to feature on the CD. Upon hearing 'Designated Driver', I was kinda surprised. Though it doesn't offer anything new lyrically, the production is really on-point. I'm not sold on the concept of their joint album just yet, but this track indicates that it may be promising.

Hit or Miss?

Bow Wow and Omarion stopped by MTV's TRL in New York today to promote their forthcoming collabo album 'Face Off'. Call me a hater or whatever, but I doubt the CD will be saying much. I felt their collabo on 'Let Me Hold You' to be pretty underwhelming. What's more, neither have proved their worth as solo stars; with their recent albums just scrapping Gold status. I'm guessing this joint project is just a way of ensuring each of their fan-bases buy it - hence equalling larger sales overall.

Following a breif hiatus, B5 are set to release their sophomore album 'Don't Talk Just Listen' on September 18th - with 'Hyrdolic' serving as the lead single. The video for the song premiered on BET's Access Granted earlier this week. Having heard (and posted) the track several months back, the video turned out pretty much how I expected - average. I'm still getting a vibe of 'little boys tryna be grown' with the track and vid. The choreography is really on-point though.

The video for Bone Thugs latest single 'Lil L.O.V.E.' has finally premiered. I've had the song in heavy rotation for a while now and was anxious to see how the video turned out. Though it's nothing groundbreaking, the Chis Robinson-directed video is pretty good. It's great to see Mariah back on scene after being on a hiatus - she looks stunning in the vid. Bow Wow as well as the song's producer Jermaine Durpri also make appearances. After the success of 'I Tried', Bone Thugs look to be on course for another chart smash with this.

Bow Wow has revealed that he is in the process of making a joint 'Best of Both Worlds' type album with R&B singer Omarion. There is no set release date for the currently untitled CD, however it is slated to drop later this year. The 'Outta My System' rapper had the following to say regarding the project:

“Me and O have been trying to put this together for so many years, and now we've got the opportunity to do it. We’re in the creative process right now, still trying to come up with a title and everything. Me and him are coming up with ideas daily, so the process is gonna go real smooth. We’re anxious to get in the studio together and make this whole thing happen.”

"I'm not even calling it an album; It's gonna be a special event. It's gonna be crazy, something the people have been waiting on -- the girls have been waiting on --for years."

...Ok then. I'm guessing the real reason for this 'special event' is that neither Bow Wow or Omarion can manage to actually sell well with their individual albums. This seems like a disaster waiting to happen. The way I see it, Omarion should to try make an album that lives up to the hype of his singles and Bow Wow should attempt to make a hit without a feature artist.

Eve - Tambourine

Fresh off her collaboration with Kelly Rowland on 'Like This', rapper Eve is back with a new single of her own. The track, 'Tambourine' was produced by Swizz Beats (Busta's 'Touch It, Beyonce's 'Check On It' etc) and it's expected to be the first single from E-V-E's new album 'Here I Am' due later this year. It's an upbeat/club kinda track and should do well. I'm liking it, although it's kinda repetitive.

DL: Tambourine (UPDATED LINK)

-----------------------------------

Johnta Austin - Video (ft. Unk)

This new track from talented singer/songwriter Johnta Austin isn't really doing it for me; it's not bad, it's just not that good either. Considering this is the man who played a major part in the career-reviving 'Emancipation of Mimi' album, I expected better. The subject matter in 'Video' has been done so many times before and the beat is kinda generic, so the song comes across 'dated'. I've heard better tracks from him, such as 'Turn It Up' and 'Hood Love', so hopefully he delivers on his next offerings.

DL: Video (ft. Unk)

-----------------------------------

Bone Thugs N' Harmony (ft. Mariah Carey & Bow Wow) - L.O.V.E (SNIPPET)

The clip is kinda short, so I can't give a full review. However, from what I can hear, the track sounds like its gonna be good. I'm sure it's a Jermaine Durpi production; the beat sounds real 'JDish' and I can hear him shouting in the background lol. Mariah's flow on the hook sounds great, dunno why Bow Wow is on the track though.

Outta My System - Bow Wow ft. T-Pain

Cool video, nothing too special though. The track is hot but can this boy have one (hit) single without a feature on it?

Make It Rain (Remix) - Fat Joe ft. Lil' Wayne, R.Kelly & More

Hot remix and video, but ain't it kinda late to just be releasing this?

Minority Report - Jay Z

The song is ok but the video is kinda...boring. Dunno what else he could have done with it though. What happened to Hollywood being the 3rd Single?

Go Too Far - Jibbs ft. Melody ( From Pussy Cat Dolls)

The video is ok. Got a summer-vibe to it. Though it's cool to see Melody doing her thing outside of PCD, I don't like her voice on this one. We know she can BLOW, but her voice sounds weak and too digitalised here.
