Black Eyed Peas Prep 'The E.N.D'Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am spoke with Billboard recently about the group's forthcoming album. Titled 'The E.N.D', the recording sessions for the LP will wrap right here in London next week. Check out what Will had to say of the album:

The album title is not an indication that it's intended to be the hip-hop outfit's final record. "No, no -- it stands for 'The Energy Never Dies,'" explains will.i.am.

Asked about the group's future relationship with the Universal Music label, will.i.am said, "It all depends on how they evolve, it's up to them to define what they're going to be in the future."

"We still have a contract with them," says will.i.am, adding that the number of albums left to deliver was "not that many."

"They want it to come out soon but I don't know if that's the right thing," he added, when asked about the label's plans for the record.

Irrespective the explanation of the album title, I'm getting 'this is our last record' vibes. With this being their first LP since Fergie blew up, it'll be interesting to see how this one pans out.

Any thoughts?

The star-studded female ensemble behind 'Just Stand Up' performed the song literally minutes ago on a Stand Up To Cancer special, which is airing on a variety of US channels as I type. Peep the much anticipated performance below:

Awesome performance! Though not flawless (I'll leave the nitpicking to you guys lol), it was still amazing to see all on stage together.

Female Beyonce, Rihanna, Mariah & Co Team Up For Charity Single music heavy-weights including Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Rihanna and Mary J. Blige have joined forces for a star-studded single called 'Just Stand Up'," benefiting the Stand Up to Cancer campaign. Check out the report via MTV below:

The unprecedented gathering features vocals from Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood. The tune is being produced by the powerhouse duo of Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and Antonio "L.A." Reid, who are working together for the first time in nearly 20 years.

The song will be available for purchase exclusively on iTunes on September 2 and will get its TV premiere on September 5 during the live "Just Stand Up" special, which will air simultaneously and commercial-free on CBS, ABC and NBC. According to a press release announcing the project, the song was conceived by Reid, the chairman of the Island Def Jam Music Group, after a meeting with the women behind the Stand Up to Cancer campaign.

It's great to see so many major names come together for a worthy cause.

Nelly was joined on stage by Fergie to perform his current single 'Party People' over the weekend at the MTV Japan VMA's. Check out the performance below:

Pretty decent, although the camera angles kinda made for a hard watch.

Fergie - 'Labels Or Love' As earlier reported, Pop star Fergie recorded the opening number to the much-hyped 'Sex & The City' movie (in theatres May 27th); the track itself, 'Labels Or Love', surfaced today. Sampling the popular show's theme tune, the song will most appeal to fans of the Fergie/Black Eyed Peas sound. Pretty decent. I must say though, I'm more looking forward to Jennifer Hudson's confirmed contribution to the soundtrack.

Fergie Preps 'Dutchess' Re-ReleaseAccording to MTV, Fergie is set to re-release her multi-Platinum smash 'The Dutchess'. Boasting several new tracks including her collaboration with Nelly, 'Party People', as well as 'Labels & Love' - the theme of the much-anticipated 'Sex In The City' movie, the revamped LP will hit stores on May 27th.

In response to the question of why she decided to re-issue the record, the Black Eyed Peas front-woman was surprisingly candid with her explanation:
That's what everyone's doing nowadays, I hear," she laughed. "The label came to me and said this would be a good idea, and I thought, 'Well, OK, if this is another way for me to put out these songs that I've been wanting people to hear, then great.' The music business is changing, and this repackage thing is a new way for people to put out songs that they want people to hear, so I'm cool with it."

Well, at least she was honest. It still baffles me as to why the label would re-issue an almost 2 year old album. Surely everyone who wanted it the first time has it already?

The video for Nelly's new single 'Party People' (ft. Fergie) premiered little over an hour ago. I must say I'm really feeling both the song and it's accompanying clip. The vid, though pretty simplistic, does the track justice. It's great to see Nelly coming with the heat this time around; 'Wadsyaname' - his first attempt at at launching his forthcoming album 'Brass Knuckles (due June 24th) - was solid, but very 'Nelly circa 2002-2004'. Good stuff.

Nelly - 'Party People' (ft. Fergie)After Nelly's most recent effort ' Wadsyaname' pretty much tanked last summer, the rapper is back with 'Party People' . The song, which features Fergie, is the 'official' first single to be lifted from the St. Louis star's new LP 'Brass Knuckles' (due June 24th). I'm kinda surprised, I wasn't expecting to like the Polow Da Don produced track as much as I do. The beat goes hard and serves as the grittiest Nelly has come on record for a while now. The Fergie feature surprisingly works pretty well, with the Black Eyed Peas front-woman holding her own on the hook, as well as her own rap verse (you read right). IMO the song has a lot of hit potential. Nelly will be shooting the song's video in Los Angeles this week.

I really have to give it to Fergie; despite making songs of next-to-no relevance (most of which sound pretty bad too) she's managed to carve out a very successful solo career outside of the Black Eyed Peas. This new single/video 'Clumsy' is set to be the 5th single from her multi-Platinum LP 'The Dutchess'. I'm kinda liking the Marc Webb and Rich Lee directed video. Word has it, Fergie is already recording her 2nd album which is to be released in 2008.
