With Nas' controversial new 'untitled' album in stores this week, the acclaimed rapper stopped by the Jimmy Kimmel Live show yesterday to perform current single 'Hero' along with Keri Hilson. I really their showing; Nas' flow was as on-point as ever, Keri held her own with the live vocals and the crowed were hyped. Great performance.

The video for the first single to be lifted from Nas' forthcoming album (untitled) 'Hero' premiered just a few moments ago. Thought the Taj directed clip is pretty much standard-fare, the song, which I've had on constant rotation as of late, is the business. It definitely carries the otherwise passable vid.

As singer/songwriter Keri Hilson continues to prep the release of her long-awaited debut 'In A Perfect World' (due in September), a snippet of 'Kiss Me (Return The Favour) - a cut from the LP - has surfaced. Produced and featuring a feature from mentor Timbaland, the track is one of the better cuts I've heard from Keri thus far. Definitely has me anticipating 'In A Perfect World' all the more.

With all the controversy surrounding the title of Nas' forthcoming album (which is still untitled - due July 15th), one could easily be forgiven for forgetting about the actual music. The set's first official single 'Hero' surfaced recently and it's banger! Produced by Polow Da Don and featuring Keri Hilson, the cut manages to not stray from Nas' stance in rap, whilst also being commercial enough to service to the masses. I'm really feeling this one. The full version of Keri Hilson's first official single 'Energy' premiered today. Some of you may remember, a snippet of the cut had been floating around a few weeks back. Having heard The Runaways produced track in its entirety, I'm a little more optimistic about Keri and her team knowing what they are doing with the project. Much of the material I've heard from Keri thus far appeals to me more than this, however it's evident they are going with a radio friendly, hook-heavy, crossover cut to cater to the masses - hence broadening her appeal.

Having already enjoyed a very successful year with high profile features on efforts by Usher, Chris Brown and mentor Timbaland, Keri Hilson's debut 'In A Perfect World' looks set to drop within the next few months. A snippet of what appears to be her first single 'Energy' (released to iTunes on May 27th) has surfaced. Unlike Keri's material heard thus far, I'm not entirely sold on this. Though by no means poor, the song sounds doesn't really offer anything new in comparison to a lot of what dominates the radio at present and does little to separate Keri from the masses. Still, I'm real optimistic about Keri delivering with the album.

Teen R&B star has joined forces with Keri Hilson for this brand new cut titled 'Superhuman'. Set to feature on the re-release of Chris' sophomore effort 'Exclusive', the track is much better than I had anticipated. The oddly matched pair trade verses over the R&B/Pop inspired mid-tempo production, meshing surprisingly well. Perhaps the re-release will be worth it after all. 'Exclusive: the Forever Edition' hits stores June 3rd.

I'm really amped for Keri's album, as I've been patiently awaiting its release for the last two or so years now. With the exposure and success that came with Keri's features on a number of Timbaland's singles, including the chart-topping 'The Way I Are', there's no time better than now IMO to launch her record. Random point: For those who didn't know, Keri is also apart of the writing collective The Clutch, who have penned hits for the likes of Usher, Mary J. Blige and Britney Spears.

Check out this new track from Keri Hilson called 'Get It Girl'. Not to be confused as a song from Keri' forthcoming album 'In A Perfect World', the cut is lifted from Timbaland's first mobile album for Verizon Wireless subscribers. Despite pretty solid production on the part of Timbo and Keri's great flow over it, I was left kinda underwhelmed by this. Let's just say it's more befitting to what it's being used for (mobile album aka 'not worthy of being a legit LP track').

The video for Timbaland's latest single 'Scream' premiered yesterday on Yahoo Music. Despite producing several hits from his 'Shock Value' album, the videos for them have tended to be...well...pretty underwhelming. However, there is no denying, the racy video 'Scream' breaks the mould - easily standing as the producer/rapper's best solo(ish) effort to date. Great song and even better video. Nicole Scherzinger is displaying a certain 'pizazz' she has yet to incorporate into her own solo career...she was getting it - as was Keri.

I'm real psyched about this song getting the single treatment. I've long been a fan of the track since hearing Timbo's 'Shock Value' LP. On a side note, that has to be the most personality the oft-wooden Nicole Scherzinger has shown on camera before...a refreshing change. Be on the look out for the video in weeks ahead.

Singer/songwriter Keri Hilson appears on the cover of latest issue of The Fader magazine. With the great success Keri enjoyed in 2007, having featured on the chart-topping 'The Way I Are' with Timbaland and writing Britney's 'Gimme More', she is set to take center stage as an artist this year. I've been waiting on Keri's project for a couple of years now, so I'm definitely anxious to see if she delivers. After a record-breaking 10 weeks at the top of the Official UK Singles Chart, Rihanna's 'Umbrella' has been dethroned by Timbaland's 'The Way I Are'. The track, which features newcomer Keri Hilson, swapped its #3 postion with Rihanna to claim the top spot. It's not bad news for the Bajan singer whose next single 'Shut Up & Drive' rockets #65-#18 on the chart - based on downloads alone.

The video for Timbaland's latest single 'The Way I Are' premiered yesterday. Upon listening to the producers' album 'Shock Value' a while back, I felt 'The Way I Are' to be one of the few decent cuts on the CD. Yet the video is poor. Similar to the vid for the first single 'Give It To Me', it's cheap and no thought appears to have been put into the concept. What's more is that it does little to introduce Timbaland protégée, Keri Hilson (who features on the track) to the masses; she just wonders aimlessly across the screen. Disappointing.
