R&B songstress Monica confirmed that her forthcoming LP 'Still Standing' will be hitting stores early 2009, during a recent message to her fans. The 28 year old star cites the fact that she is still in the studio working on the record as the reason for the delay.

R&B singer Monica recently left a voicemail on her fan-site MonicaSoul.com, dishing details on her forthcoming album 'Lessons Learned'. Slated to be released in August via J Records, the LP (which will consist of 12-14 tracks) will be preceded by a single in June/July, according to the 27 year old. As at the recording of the message, Monica confirmed she has either already worked or is in the process of working with the following producers: Babyface, Polow The Don, Bryan Michael Cox, Ne-Yo and R. I'm kinda surprised she returned back to work so soon, her son Romello was only born in January. Still, I can't complain; Monica oft brings 'IT' with her albums. Random tidbit: Am I the only one who really liked her last effort 'The Makings of Me?

R&B songstress Monica gave birth to her second son earlier this week. She sent the following message to her fans via SandraRose.com:

Hi, Sandra. Thank you very much for checking on us. We are all doing very well and truly thank God for our new addition. Romelo Montez Hill was born on January 8th at 2:15p.m. He weighed a healthy 5 pounds 6 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. Thank you and your readers for your love and support. Lil Rock and Romelo mean the world to me, and so do those that support us. Again, thank you and look for my new album Summer 08. God bless you!!”

Congratulations to Monica. I'm definitely looking forward to the new record.

According to our friend Sandra Rose, R&B singer Monica has recently renewed her contract with J Records and is in the process of recording a new album. The singer, who is eight months pregnant, is working with hit-makers Bryan Michael Cox, Missy Elliott and Ne-Yo on the CD. What's more, she has gone on record to confirm that the album will consist of mainly ballads and slower numbers - no more crunk/' hot for the moment' tracks this time around.

Rumors of R&B star Monica being pregnant have been circulating for a while, however the news has been confirmed via one of our affiliates, Sandra Rose. The 'Don't Take It Personal' singer is reportedly 5 months pregnant with her second child. The father is believed to be Rodney 'Rock' Hill Jr - her long-time partner and father to her 2 year old son Lil Rock.

R&B singer Monica is currently in the studio working on the follow-up to to her 2006 effort 'The Makings Of Me'. Speaking to Metro Weekly last month, she revealed that she is in the process of 'writing and putting songs together' for the new project. The 'So Gone' singer added that the album will be released 'far sooner than her typical three-or-more year wait between albums'.
