A shocking report, released yesterday, by The Times Union of Albany implies that famed musicians 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Timbaland, Wyclef Jean and renown author/ playwright Tyler Perry may have received or used performance enhancing drugs. Check out the Fox News report below:

Music-big names like Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Timbaland and Wyclef Jean came up in connection with an Albany, N.Y.-based steroid investigation, The Times Union of Albany reported.

Citing unidentified sources, the report alleged that the above-mentioned music stars, along with award-winning author and producer Tyler Perry, may have received or used performance-enhancing drugs.

Grammy-winning singer Blige blasted the report when reached for comment by the New York Daily News.

"Mary J. Blige has never taken any performance-enhancing illegal steroids," the singer's spokeswoman Karynne Tencer told the News.

Ken Sunshine, a spokesman for Perry, declined to comment to the Associated Press.

Law-enforcement officials have said evidence does not indicate the celebrities broke the law. For now, at least, officials are focusing on the doctors, pharmacists and clinics providing the drugs.

Whilst some of these aren't really a shock (no names mentioned), the appearance of others are kinda surprising. It'll be interesting to see what comes of this all...

Wyclef stopped by the Jimmy Kimmel show earlier this week to perform his current single 'Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)'. I'm really feeling this song, the performance was pretty good too. Wyclef's latest album 'Carnival Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant' is in stores now.

Wyclef debuted his new video 'Sweetest Girl' (Dollar Bill) last night on BET Access Granted. Featuring Lil' Wayne and Akon, the song is the first single to be lifted from the former Fugees star's forthcoming album 'The Carnival II: Memoirs of an Immigrant' (due November 6th). I've had this great track on constant rotation for a while now and the vid is just as good. Wyclef may be on to a hit with this one.

Wyclef - Sweetest Girl (ft. Akon, Lil’ Wayne & Nia)

Following the success of his work with artists such as T.I. and Shakira, Wyclef has re-focused his creative energy onto his own solo material. This new track, 'Sweetest Girl', sees the former Fugees star team up with Akon, Lil' Wayne and newcomer Nia. I didn't anticipate liking the song, however after listening to it, I was pleasantly surprised. With it's laid back feel and catchy hook, the song is ideal for summer. Be on the lookout for Wyclef's as-yet-untitled new album, which will feature 'Sweetest Girl', around September.

Brandy - Sweet Nothings

With all the drama surrounding Brandy at present, it's great to hear some new material from the former 'Moesha' star. 'Sweet Nothings' was apparently recorded in the early part of last year and was produced by a European producer - perhaps explaining the 'eurocentric' vibe the song has to it. Brandy's trademark harmonies are also a feature on the song. Upon first listen the track didn't really captivate me, however it's definitely a grower and I found myself enjoying it the more I listened. It should be noted that the song will not be featured on the 'Afrodisiac' singer's new CD.

Lil' Mama - Make It Hot

17 year old Lil' Mama got me -as well as everyone else - with her inescapable debut hit 'Lip Gloss' and the New Yorker is set to continue her rise with 'Make It Hot. Though not as instantly likable as 'Lip Gloss', the production on the track is on-point, as is Lil Mama's flow. Aside from the slighly annoying singing parts, the track is great. Her album 'The Voice of The Young People' is set to hit stores later this year.

The video for T.I.'s latest single, 'You Know What It Is' premiered last night. As with the song, the video just doesn't move me. There isn't anything remotely entertaining about it; it seems to just goes on and on. Wyclef's presence (along with that fake Caribbean accent) is kinda jarring too. This all makes me wonder if T.I.'s latest effort 'T.I. vs T.I.P.' will have been worth the wait. He needs to step up his game, because as of now he isn't delivering. 'T.I. vs T.I.P.' hits stores July 3rd.

Slated to be the 2nd single from T.I.'s upcoming album - 'T.I. vs T.I.P.'- this new track 'You Know What It Is' sees the self-proclaimed 'King of the South' collaborate with Wyclef Jean. The song itself is decent and T.I.'s flow is on-point as usual. However, the production is kinda lacking and Wyclef ruins the track with an annoyingly fake Caribbean accent. 'T.I. vs T.I.P.' hits stores July 3rd.

Hit or Miss?

Bad news for those holding out for the return of The Fugees. Former member Pras has gone on record to state that the status of his reunion with fellow members Lauryn Hill and Wyclef is "Straight dead". Speaking to SOHH, Pras explains "You know, unfortunately Miss Hill, she got some things she needs to deal with. I wish her the best, but life goes on." The critically acclaimed trio were scheduled to release an album last year marking 10 years since the release of their classic LP 'The Score'; a single, 'Take It Eazy' was even released in late 2005. Currently each member is focusing on their own projects; including Pras' new album/movie project and Lauryn Hill's upcoming overseas tour.

Whatever the case, I say they should hurry up and get it together. Look at how many 90's groups try to reunite after so many years away - only to find that no one cares anymore.
